Hello! I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California providing psychotherapy services via telehealth and in-person assessment services in Encino, CA. I am a first-generation Chinese-American, and I am passionate about looking through a patient’s history through the lens of their culture. I earned my BA in Psychology from Notre Dame de Namur University in the woody hills of Belmont, CA, then completed my PsyD at Adler University in the bustling city of Chicago, IL. In my training, I have worked with children, adolescents, and their families in diverse cities of Chicago and Los Angeles in school, hospital, and therapeutic day school, and private practice settings.
In keeping with my passion of working with families from different ethnic, racial, and spiritual backgrounds, I completed my internship and postdoctoral fellowship in Los Angeles, CA. Much of my work there focused on neurodivergent children (ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities) who also struggle with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I value working closely with family members to involve them in my work with the child, transfer my interventions that work into the home, and to provide support for evidence-based parenting techniques.
After I completed my postdoctoral fellowship, I shifted my work from children and adolescents to working with adults with similar needs. In my work with adults, I continue to conceptualize from the lens of how childhood experiences have impacted other patterns in adulthood. I guide my clients in understanding these experiences to build a foundation for choosing different patterns in adulthood. In using this kind of depth-oriented work with adults, I have worked with university students, graduate students, and working adults in high pressure environments requiring support with symptoms of anxiety and depression.
In my free time, I enjoy the expressive arts in dance, movement, and crafts.
I am excited to share a therapeutic space with my clients that is culture-informed, trauma-informed, and welcoming of the neurodiverse and LGBTQIAA2S+ communities. I welcome you to contact me for a free 30-minute consultation call to determine your needs and whether we may be a fit.
